It’s not the top cartoon of the series, but I thought I’d share it this week – a scan from Mark Kausler’s very nice 16mm print.

This lovely print is easily the best I’ve seen on this short – complete with its original titles.
Devon Baxter did the clean up on this print – and suggested it would make a good Thunderbean Thursday post, so I’m taking him up on that! He did an absolutely great job.
I like a lot of things about this scrappy little cartoon. It’s exuberance in simple design and execution makes it hard to not smile while watching.
The third film in the Cubby series, Mannie Davis gets the sole credit on the film. My guess is that Davis, as director, was also the lead animator.
This is the third Tom and Jerry short and I don’t think another cartoon has them drawn quite like they’re drawn in many shots here.
