That said, I\u2019m asking *you* to come up with a bunch of interesting and entertaining worsts. There is something great about finding the worst of each studio &#8211; and it\u2019s actually more fun to think about and write about them than it is to actually have to <em>watch<\/em> them!<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s no pressing Thunderbean news at the moment\u2026 work continues on finishing off the <em>Rainbow Parades 2<\/em> set right now. Things are looking splendid.<\/p>\n<hr style=\"color: #000000; background-color: #000000; height: 2px; border: none;\" \/>\n<p>And now, back to *your* least favorites\u2026.<\/p>\n<p>Since it\u2019s my fault you\u2019ll be writing, it\u2019s only fair that I start it out. There\u2019s no rules in what you write, but I\u2019ll start things out with my list of some of *my* leasts \u2014 and why.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Disney Studio:  How to Sleep (1953)<\/strong>.  I have very specific reasons for this being my least favorite Disney theatrical cartoon. It\u2019s beautifully animated. I don\u2019t mind *that* part, but, even though I tried to enjoy it, I couldn\u2019t find a single gag even remotely funny. It just seems like a misfire, and, somehow, because it\u2019s trying so hard to be funny, I find it even more annoying. Click the title card below to watch it &#8211; if you dare. <\/p>\n<a TARGET=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/videos\/uanuso\/goofy_how_to_sleep\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cartoonresearch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/How-To-Sleep-Goofy-title.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"560\" height=\"350\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-91971\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cartoonresearch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/How-To-Sleep-Goofy-title.jpg 560w, https:\/\/cartoonresearch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/How-To-Sleep-Goofy-title-300x188.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cartoonresearch.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/How-To-Sleep-Goofy-title-150x94.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 560px) 100vw, 560px\" \/><\/a>\n<p>\n<hr style=\"color: #000000; background-color: #000000; height: 2px; border: none;\" \/>\n<p><strong>2: Fleischer<\/strong>: There isn\u2019t a Fleischer short that I\u2019m personally *hating*, but if you want to annoy me at a showing of otherwise quality 16mm cartoons, show with <em>Granite Hotel<\/em> or <em>The Wizard of Arts<\/em>. To reiterate, I have no hate for either, but I\u2019d rather see *anything* I haven\u2019t ever seen from the classic cartoon era than have to watch either of these ever again (and I owned prints of both). Again, I don\u2019t hate these- they\u2019re just the last of the Fleischers I want to watch again. I posted this a little while back- feel free to look up the other if you\u2019d like:<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rgjGIyLSSXM?si=MQdWJ5auuXQX8e-e\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>\n<hr style=\"color: #000000; background-color: #000000; height: 2px; border: none;\" \/>\n<p><strong>3. Terrytoons:<\/strong> I hate to disparage another cartoon with really great animation \u2014 but <em>Gaston\u2019s Baby<\/em> (1958) really rubs me the wrong way. None of the characters are even slightly appealing to be, and every one is just mean to each other. Even Gaston isn\u2019t interesting to me in his confusion between the kid and the parent. Maybe you\u2019ll like it for its sheer bizarreness and a lot of really fun animated shots. I\u2019m just not hip enough to get this one I guess.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tBN_F9pLWJg?si=_s1SzR51ZEiL7qJl\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>\n<hr style=\"color: #000000; background-color: #000000; height: 2px; border: none;\" \/>\n<p><strong>4: Famous Studios: And So Tibet (1964)<\/strong><br \/>\nI\u2019ve owned a print of this cartoon *twice*- both times in a batch of other things. I must have a thing against angry characters, because here we have a story that really barely goes anywhere, some really uninspired character design and survivable animation. It\u2019s also on my list of cartoons I\u2019d rather never see again &#8211; and that\u2019s a short list for Famous for me.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5vWFNye9Nck?si=5mjFsYRkWT3E_icR\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>\n<hr style=\"color: #000000; background-color: #000000; height: 2px; border: none;\" \/>\n<p><strong>5: MGM: Mouse into Space (1962)<\/strong>: I honestly could get through any of the MGM multiple times, but perhaps it\u2019s because I saw this particular one over and over as a kid that I just would rather not see it again. In this Rembrandt Films\/Gene Deitch produced short, Tom spends a majority of the cartoon reacting to objects hitting him or trying to avoid him while he\u2019s running along with the rocket he was inside in space. There\u2019s a cutaway once in a while with Jerry laughing at him, and then there\u2019s a scene near the end where it looks like the animators were trying to emulate some scenes of 50\u2019s Tom and Jerry cartoons in action and poses. It\u2019s kind of a dud, and just about the least funny of this particular era of Tom and Jerry\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?height=420&#038;href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fcartoontvvideo%2Fvideos%2F873307966549929%2F&#038;show_text=false&#038;width=560&#038;t=0\" width=\"560\" height=\"420\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden\" scrolling=\"no\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" allow=\"autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowFullScreen=\"true\"><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>\n<hr style=\"color: #000000; background-color: #000000; height: 2px; border: none;\" \/>\n<p><strong>6: UPA: The Rise of Dutton Lang (1955)<\/strong> I don\u2019t know where to start on this one. The basic plot is a man meeting a stranger at a cafe and telling him a story of a character that gets fatter and fatter,and is miserable as the story continues. There\u2019s no happy ending for this character, just a story teller getting himself and another man drunk. I dislike *every* character in this film, and have trouble understanding why this was even a good idea to make. I like some of the design in this film, but never, ever understood the supposed sardonic, sophisticated humor in this mean-spirited cartoon. And yes, I know the title is supposed to sound like &#8220;Two Ton Lang&#8221; another completely unfunny and mean joke.<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/wVdiYLQpVBc?si=ycmJ1pAZhnTZpbAk\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>\n<p>Ok- it\u2019s your turn!
