One of the films that I scanned recently was a German titled print the Flip the Frog cartoon “Bulloney” with a very cool title card.
Here’s something most of you have never seen: the black and white original negs from a frame of Iwerks’ Jack Frost – and both combined as a two-color positive image.
This particular print contains footage that no other print we’ve found seems to have.
Max Fleischer and Richard Williams weren’t the only animators to take on Raggedy Ann and Andy.
This nice original NTA TV print is courtesy of Mark Kausler.
Reminding me of the Fleischer cartoons of 1929-1930, with styles of different artists owning whole segments of the film.
The coolest thing about seeing a 35mm Technicolor print of these Famous Studios films is all the detail and brightness of the soundtrack.
Another legend was lost yesterday, a wonderful man named Bob Koester. Bob was a colorful character who I’ve known since the early 80s.
I really wish there was a collection of pristine 35mm Tom and Jerry somewhere. Heck, I’d take half beat up ones as well!
